We specialise in creating stunning jaw-dropping websites.
Our Process
Regularly communicating with you throughout the process is a given.
We understand some clients want us to update them at every stage of the process, whilst others want us to ‘just get on with it’ and others fall somewhere in between. Whichever your preference, we’re happy to accommodate for you.
-
1
Design brief
Understanding your expectations through your design brief is the most crucial part of the web design and development process. Having aligned ideas will lead to the website you’ve envisaged.
-
2
Wireframe design
At this stage, we put pen to paper (and computer) to produce a visual guide that represents the skeletal framework & structure of your website.
-
3
Developing your website
Here's the best part! This is the bit where we keep caffeinated whilst coding your website to appear on the world wide web.
-
4
User testing
To ensure every single visitor to your website has the most pleasant experience, we go through every scenario, clicking every button to check everything works as it should.
Why Choose Us?
Our clients have shared with us the most important factors in determining why they chose us.
Communication
Whenever our clients need us, they can reach us.
We have a prestige reputation to maintain so being reachable is important to us. Whether by phone, email or a traditional face-to-face chat over a latté. (If coffee isn’t your thing, we can arrange an English Breakfast tea for you).
Efficiency
We over deliver.
We understand that when a client asks us for an estimated time of completion for their project, missing targets can be very frustrating. We understand that clients have deadlines which fit around other important business deadlines.
Experience
Designing and developing websites are what we are best known for.
With over a combined total of 45 years’ experience between the team, you can rest assured you are in safe hands.
Price
We treat our clients fairly.
The main method of marketing for Website Design London is word-of-mouth referrals. Jim tells Jane about WDL and Bob’s your uncle, we have another client. We know Jim won’t tell Jane if we over-charge Jim. So we price all our projects fairly.
Knowledge
Our best asset is our team.
We are proud to have such talented individuals working with us at Website Design London. Our team regularly complete training courses. In addition, we stay abreast with the latest updates within the industry through reports and the close relationships we’ve formed with organisations.
Capacity
We don’t take on work if we know we can’t deliver.
We believe our policy of displaying this high degree of integrity, allows us to form the open and honest relationships our clients desire.

A Template or Bespoke Site? Which One is Right for You?
When deciding on the form your website will take you have two basic choices. You can opt for a website produced using a template, or you can go with a custom-made website – often referred to as a bespoke website – that is built specifically for you from the ground up. Let’s look at the differences as well as the relative advantages and disadvantages.

Template Websites
There are untold thousands of website templates available that can be purchased and used as a foundation for your website. There are even free templates available, although they typically offer very limited functionality, and most do not offer support. A significant percentage of templates these days are developed for, and used in conjunction with, the WordPress content management system CMS, (although the CMS is completely independent of the template and can also be used to manage a bespoke site). The advantages and disadvantages of this type of website are:
Advantages
- They take far less time to develop.
- They are much cheaper than bespoke sites.
- Virtually anyone can be taught to make basic updates.
- If you pay for the template, you may get support from the developer.
- Most are fairly reliable.
Disadvantages
- Your website is going to look like a lot of other websites out there.
- Extremely limited ability to personalise the template.
- Coding issues sometimes only become apparent later on.
- Hackers and malware developers tend to love template sites.
- Support from developers is often less than stellar.
Template-based web sites can be a good idea for individuals and small & medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) not engaged in ecommerce, or those with a limited budget who are not heavily invested in creating and supporting a distinct brand identity.
Bespoke Websites
A bespoke website is one that is created from whole cloth specifically for you. There is no template dictating terms of the design, no hidden coding errors or issues that will take the wind out of your SEO efforts, and you have absolute control of the user experience. In a world of 1 billion websites where most bear more than a passing resemblance to one another, the bespoke site is your chance to stand out among the crowd. The advantages and disadvantages of this type of website are:
Advantages
- Your website has an entirely unique look and feel.
- A more secure choice for ecommerce.
- The ability to feature complex functionality.
- Scalability.
- Ideal for those building a brand identity.
- Support from the developer.
Disadvantages
- Longer development period.
- More expensive.
Which is Best for You?
Before deciding which type of website is best for your company, consider how important things like ecommerce, and especially brand identity, are to you. Of course, you will also need to consider your budget, the time scale you’re operating within and your future plans for the site, which will speak to the need, or lack of need, for scalability.
At Website Designers London we have a world-class team of web designers and developers who can provide timely, relevant advice that will help you make the right choice for your business.
